LCD TVs will soon have completely taken over from the old televisions with a cathode ray tube. Flat-screen TV sets are already standing or hanging in many living rooms today – and they are getting bigger all the time. But until now, there have been limits to the size of the screens because the thin plastic films used to make them have a tendency to warp, and the picture becomes distorted.

Brightness despite the heat
A research team from Bayer MaterialScience has now developed a high-purity grade of Makrolon® with outstanding optical properties that stays in shape even in over-sized screens. Read how the proven Bayer plastic ensures that the backlight unit of an LCD TV delivers razor-sharp pictures and optimum brightness.
