A researcher who wants to find an effective anticancer drug needs a great deal of stamina - but this alone is not enough. Apart from sound specialist knowledge and a focused way of working, a certain amount of luck and above all an excellent team of specialists are also needed. Dr. Bernd Riedl – a chemist at Bayer HealthCare – had all this and so succeeded in synthesizing the active substance in an anti-cancer drug.

Possible hope for other types of cancer
