Not all cancers are alike. There are many types of tumors requiring individual treatment with specific active substances. One effective method for identifying new anti-cancer substances is RNA interference, in which individual genes are silenced in order to simulate the effect of new drugs.

Identifying points of attack
Researchers at Bayer HealthCare are searching cells for new targets of attack for anti-cancer drugs. Their goal is to define the importance of a target to the progression of an illness and determine whether inhibiting the target can stop tumor growth.
