The question with bleeding wounds is always, does it need stitches? Not only children are frightened by this prospect. Even adults become uncomfortable at the thought of the needle and thread. Doctors use these standard “tools” to seal wounds after surgical interventions as well. They often leave unsightly scars, however.

Sealing wounds without having to take out stitches
Bayer scientists hope that they have now found a solution: a new medical adhesive that firmly bonds skin and tissue after surgery and leaves a barely visible scar. It not only makes needles superfluous but also eliminates the necessity of removing stitches later on. As such, it also helps to lower the cost of health care.
